Florida Photo Gallery: Big Cypress National Preserve

North and west of Everglades National Park, Big Cypress is mainly bald cypress, Taxodium distichum, sloughs. During the winter, the foliage is down on the cypress trees, allowing a lot of light to reach the surface of the water. The bromeliads were just coming into bloom.
